Brooklyn Won its 3rd Annual All-Star Tourney, Duh.

Thanks to all our participants from Toronto, Hoboken, Providence, and Atlanta. Atlanta, actually, made it to the Finals for the 3rd year in a row. Plus, the Pirates gave back their trophy from last year. To the rest of the country, we hope to see more leagues next year. Hopefully by then, we'll have a black president and a bright economy.

Saturday, July 12th is the date for our National Tournament.

Many cities have shown interest in playing in our 3rd annual tournament. What is the format? Well, that depends on the amount of teams. What we know for sure that this will be a rocking day, with many musical performances representing many genres. We also know there is no cost. Furthermore, we ask all Brooklyn players to help out and let our guests from all around the country stay at their place:

Opening Day Part II Was May 4th, and here are some crappy pictures you can steal for your crappy website!

We Have 33 Fucking Teams Now.

To all the teams that couldn't sign up, we will let you know if a spot opens. For now, be a free-agent, an umpire, or just chill in lawn candy. Also, here's a waiting list for team captains:

The New Deal for 2008: 4 Women in the Field

As was declared at last year's Kickies (no one remembers as we were all drunk and loud), there is a new rule this year:

4 women in the field at all times, with a maximum of 10 fielders. No team can play short-handed.

Furthermore, four girls must bat in the first 10.  As our lineup rules are rather liberal and unorthodox compared to baseball's (and we'll examine that later), there are so many ways to accomplish a sound, fair, honest, and true lineup.

Why is this a rule?  Simple mathematics.  More than 40% of the potential players are women, yet they've been marginalized.  Don't we want them there?  Our ultimate ratio is a league-fulfilling prophecy.  If they feel like they won't be allowed to play, then they won't show.   If they are given the proper consideration, then they will gladly play.  So many teams had more than 4 women, including many of last year's best.

The aptitude of the league will not suffer.  Everyone, from the All-Stars to the retards, should improve greatly.  With some teamwork, everyone can be a champion. We've come so far in a few years, and the level of play has increased.  But there is so much progress to be made: really no one can talk down.  Bad play is not a chick thing as I've seen plenty of dudes suck loudly and frequently.  Also, let's not forget, Kickball was designed for Sunday night escapism and fun.  We're here to have a good time, period.  Be competive, sure, but with class. Therefore, in the name of lunacy and decency, we will honor all our sisters.  It's not a party otherwise.

In a personal closing, my only regret with this rule is that I didn't implement it from Day 1.  To all the ladies from seasons '04-'07, I'm sorry I let you down by letting my prejudice sour your evening.

Much Love,

Kevin Fucking Commie Pinko Dailey
